MY STORY
My name is Jon Mootoo, I’m super into anime, sports, and playing volleyball, and I’m one of the founders of Forge Fitness.
Most of my life was centered around sports, which led me to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Temple University. My first foray into the fitness industry was interning in the Strength & Conditioning Department at an Ivy Prep School. I came into it never really planning on being a trainer full-time, but it was there that I realized fitness was really a tool for me. Fitness was a way for me to take something I was passionate about and use it to help people make positive changes in their lives. And doing that was so incredibly rewarding that I knew it was what I truly wanted to do. So I decided to get really good at it.
My education taught me how to train athletes and grow muscle. My incredible mentors, real-world experience, some extra certifications, and the desire to keep growing and learning have turned me into the well-rounded trainer I am today.
What started as preparing athletes to play at higher levels and helping my now-wife and her friends get snatched has evolved into also creating healthier habits, mitigating chronic pain, and improving quality of life.
From athletic performance, fat loss, and getting caked up, to joint pain, feeling comfortable with your body, or being able to play with your kids, I’m confident in my ability to help.
Fitness should be as regular a part of people’s lives as doing laundry, and we created Forge to meet people wherever they are in their fitness journey and help them do just that.
